Headed up to Chicago to stay with Bryan for a few days before Lollapalooza. Received my Certificate Of Eligibility from Musashino, and have everything ready to apply for my student visa. Work at the new studio is going strong, finishing up several websites well as shooting photos for Tee-C and the Evansville Visitors and Convention Bureau. Fourth of July photos are up in the Flickr. Japanese tutoring is going as well as I could hope, I still have a long way to go. We’ll see how well I speak by the time September rolls around. Dates for Tokyo are 2 September through 23 December.

I’ll be spending next semester at the Musashino Art University in Tokyo, Japan. Pratt is sending two students to Japan on exchange. I’ll be spending the summer working and learning Japanese in Evansville. Fourth semester here in New York is starting to wrap up, survey is less than a month away. All the travel videos from Bryan and I’s Tran-Siberian trip will be up in the Film section this week. We have put together a small book of travel tips, dos and donts, along with other suggestions for anyone interested in traveling from Beijing to Moscow on the Trans-Siberian railway. Keep an eye on the Flickr for new photos.

After a wonderful month back home, I’ll be returning to New York on Sunday. Now that 2007 is over, I’ve posted my 2007 photo-portfolio, which can be found Here. An abridge selection of coursework from last semester can be found stashed away in the Class Work page, which will eventually show up in the Art section as well. I’ve just had a few promo pieces printed up, drop me an e-mail with your postal address and I’ll do my best to see you’re added to the mailing list.

The semester here in New York is quickly coming to a finish. I’ve started collecting new work to upload to the site, be on the lookout for new photos and work from this semester’s classes in the next few weeks. Had a nice trip home after midterms, ended up staying a few days longer than planned. I finally got to check out Tee-C’s album, which looks beautiful. I’m very please with how it all turned out. Of course I recommend picking up a copy, available at CD baby. While on our trip this summer, Bryan and I made a few short video journals, the first of which is now
online.

Been back in New York for three weeks now. The course load is reasonable, all my professors are great and I’m liking everything so far. Yesterday I attended the PhotoShelter Photo 2.0 Town Hall in Manhattan. They had a great panel and it was good to hang out and talk with everyone afterwards. If you don’t know the photos of Chase Jarvis, I suggest checking his site out, give his blog a read or watch one of his RAW video series. The last of the proofs for Tee-C’s album artwork came back last week, everything’s moving along great, production should begin this week and everything should arrive in Evansville in plenty of time for his October 20th release party.

434 Photos - all taken somewhere between Hong Kong and Kiev are now online at http://www.stroube.com/travels/. Bryan and I also have a series of video updates we took along our journey. I’m in the process of getting the video ready for the web, I’ll post links when they’re finished and online.

My flight is out early tomorrow morning, I’ll be traveling in Asia until the end of the month. Check the flickr occasionally, as I might put some photos up if we find time to get to an internet cafe. Other than that, enjoy the 2006 photos and I’ll be back in a month with a good photo essay of the trip.

I am currently upgrading the navigation and galleries of the site, everything should be back to normal by Friday evening.
Update: All galleries and movies are back online, I’ve added the 2006 photos which have been long over due, check them out in the Photography page.

The semester wrapped up nicely and I’m back in Indiana for the rest of May. I should have some time to add some of my latest work to the site in the next week or two. On the 1st of June I’m headed off to catch up with my brother in Hong Kong and travel with him for three weeks. From Hong Kong we’re headed to mainland China, planning on spending a week there and then taking the Trans-Siberian Railway from Beijing to Moscow; a 6 day train ride. We’ll be spending our final week in Moscow and Kiev, Ukraine, and then flying back to attend a good friend’s wedding in Chicago. The summer is well underway and it feels good to have another year of school under the belt.
